Park Improvement Project for Ike Kinswa State Park
Ike Kinswa State Park – Adventure Backpacks Ike Kinswa is one of our busiest and most iconic locations, attracting many families
Ike Kinswa is one of our busiest and most iconic locations, attracting many families with youth to visit the 454-acre park next to the shores of Mayfield Lake amidst an idyllic forest setting. The project at Ike Kinswa entailed funding “Adventure Backpacks” meant to increase the curiosity and wonder of the young “mini-naturalists” as they explored the area. Each backpack encourages learning about nature for beginners from all backgrounds and includes items such as binoculars, writing and coloring utensils, notebooks, compasses, constellation charts, books such as Peterson First Guide to Rocks and Minerals, Ike Kinswa flora/fauna guides, and magnifying glasses.
