Fort Simco: Interpretive Tour of Commanders Quarters

Chocolate Chip Cookie Trail Run

Welcome to the Chocolate Chip Cookie 50K Trail Run. We are excited to share Riverside State Park in Spokane. The course has awesome views of the surrounding mountains, Spokane River valley. The Civilian Conservation Corps Suspension Bridge and haystack rocks nearby. Runners will cover varied terrain, with some short hills, rocks to tumble on, forest air to breathe, and open prairie. Fort Worden Art Class: Lines, Layers, and Paul Klee with Rebecca Wild

November 16 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Through a series of exercises inspired by the work of artist Paul Klee, participants will invent an abstract alphabet that will be altered, embellished, combined with words and layers, and used as the basis for multiple creative pieces. Hand cut stencils, pastels, graphite, paint, and various resist materials will be used. Detailed demonstrations will offer plenty of time for hands-on artistic exploration and individual interpretation. Fort Worden: Drawing Fundamentals – Level Two with Nonie Gaines

November 15 - November 16

Students will use techniques acquired in the beginning drawing class to further enhance their art knowledge and to develop a ‘personal style’. Potential areas of exploration include one, two and three point perspective, landscape drawing, basic portraiture, drawing animals, composition and mediums other than graphite pencil. Note: This course is open to anyone who already possesses realistic drawing skills.
